Every Windswept Fibres colourway begins with an idea, often inspired by the landscapes, places and stories of Newfoundland. These are my stories and colours, and I am dyeing to share them with you.

Forever a Favourite
Labradorite
Labradorite was first described by Europeans after specimens were found in 1770 on Paul Island near Nain, in Labrador. I love how its colours come alive in the light, revealing beautiful flashes of blue, green, gold and violet that can look completely different from one moment to the next. I created my Labradorite colourway to capture a little of that magic, bringing those shifting colours together in a way that hopefully feels as captivating as the stone itself.
I dye yarns to match the colours of where I live. Foggy mornings, painted houses, water on rocky shores, and so much more.
When I started Windswept Fibres my vision was to share my deep love of Newfoundland and our culture in a way that intersects with my passion for knitting and carefully crafted fibres. Living in Newfoundland means that there is inspiration everywhere I look; from the gorgeous landscapes, to our uniquely named locations each with their own story, to our delicious recipes passed down through generations of Newfoundlanders.
Throughout my dyeing journey I quickly discovered that even the commonplace colours of dense fog against our brightly coloured houses came to life when paired with fine yarns! The combination of familiar sights and one of a kind phrases tug at the hearts of homesick Newfoundlanders and grab the attention of “Come From Aways!” I hope you will find something that speaks to you and lets you experience a little piece of the beautiful island that I call home.
